The new CAP has come into effect for the period 2023-2027 and aims to achieve a fairer, greener, and more performance-based CAP with a social focus. To implement the new CAP, each EU-27 Member State (MS) has drafted a CAP Strategic Plan (Belgium has two distinct CAP SPs, one for Flanders and one for Wallonia).

ADE, in collaboration with ÖIR GmbH (consortium leader), conducted a research project commissioned by the European Parliament titled “Comparative analysis of the CAP Strategic Plans (SP) and their effective contribution to the achievement of EU objectives.” The project compares the CAP interventions outlined in the 28 CAP Strategic Plans across Member States and assesses their strengths and weaknesses in relation to the general and specific objectives of the new CAP as well as the broader environmental and climate ambitions of the EU.
