Primary data collection
ADE is known for its capacity, creativity, and agility in generating reliable and relevant first-hand data. ADE teams are solution-oriented and deploy rigorous approaches to collect data at different beneficiary levels to provide evidence-based recommendations. We always look for the right balance between quantitative and qualitative data given the evaluation objectives and resources. Ethical considerations and GDPR are central to our data management systems.
Statistical and econometric analysis
ADE in-house experts apply state-of-the-art techniques for quantitative analysis. The range of statistical and econometric analyses and tools used is regularly updated through our participation in seminars and conferences, and active review of related academic publications. We are always exploring the relevance of new data sources (e.g., social media, satellite images) and methods (e.g., machine learning, remote sensing) to evaluate the impact of policies and programmes.
ADE always focuses on using meaningful visuals. We also develop dashboards to ease data manipulation and data analysis interpretation at client level.

Qualitative analysis
ADE masters the analysis of diverse sources of information to produce well-documented findings. We are increasingly making use of tools such as Nvivo to digest and organized a huge number of qualitative data (e.g., programme documentation, academic literature, experts’ notes, social media).

ADE pays great attention to producing visual findings and presentation. Rigorous data analysis is not enough, clear messages need to be presented using appropriate visuals adapted to specific audiences. We also produce interactive dashboards and coherent factsheets.
