ADE is delighted to be conducting the evaluation of the European Union regional cooperation with ASEAN for the period 2014-2024.
This evaluation will assess the overall performance of the EU regional cooperation with ASEAN, examining the extent to which it was aligned with EU and ASEAN priorities as well as the extent to which it contributed to strengthen the relations between ASEAN and EU. ASEAN and the EU have been Dialogue Partners since 1977. The relations were raised to the level of a Strategic Partnership in 2020 and the year 2022 marked 45 years of official dialogue relations between ASEAN and EU.
The evaluation aims at identifying key lessons learned from regional cooperation and recommendations for the future programming. The evaluation will cover the three ASEAN community pillars: political and security cooperation, economic cooperation, and socio-cultural cooperation. It will also cover cross-cutting issues: gender, migration, inequality and disability. This evaluation builds on ADE’s track record of successful strategic evaluations for DG INTPA.
