Networking was incorporated into the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) both at the European Union level through the European Network for Rural Development (ENRD) and at the national level through the National Rural Network (NRN) in 2007. The ENRD serves as a platform for sharing information and improving Rural Development Programme (RDP) delivery at the EU level, while National Rural Networks (NRNs) interlink organizations and administrations involved in rural development and also foster innovation in agriculture, food production, forestry, and rural areas with the support of EIP-AGRI Networks. Its purpose is to involve and connect individuals and organisations with an interest in and dedication to rural development in Europe.
ADE, in collaboration with CCRI and ÖIR (GmbH) conducted an evaluation of the ENRD and NRNs’ contribution to the implementation of EU Rural Development policy for the 2014-2020 period. This study, commissioned by DG AGRI, has recently been published.
